Getting Fit for Gardening Workshop - DRESDEN

The Dresden & District Horticultural Society presents “Let's Get Fit for Gardening" with Sandra Maltby-Mills. Sandra Maltby-Mills is the owner of Let’s Get Fit Centre for Healthy Living in Dresden and is a certified CanFitPro. The workshop takes place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Trinity Christian Centre in Dresden.
Participants are asked to bring a mat or towel and wear loose fitting clothing. There is no cost for this workshop if you have a Dresden Horticultural Society membership. Memberships can be purchased for $5.00 on the 24th and entitles the bearer to many discounts at local garden centres and FREE admittance to most Dresden Horticultural Society workshops.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Thinking of making changes to your yard but not sure how to begin? Are ecological values, aesthetics, and local, organic food production important to you? Drawing on the insights of Permaculture design, nature-scaping, and organic gardening, this workshop will offer a process that helps you to develop a vision for transforming your outdoor space and many practical strategies for making it happen. Handouts for all participants included.

Grow A Garden in 2010 – Free Garden Plots Offered in Dresden

Have you ever wanted to learn how to garden, grow vegetables, and have fun at the same time with fellow gardeners? Maybe you are a gardener, but don’t have space to garden. Sue Farrar, Vice-President of the Dresden Horticultural Society is taking requests from individuals and families who want to grow a garden in the Dresden community garden this spring.
Tools, sectioned garden plot, teaching and seeds are offered free of charge to anyone interested in growing healthy food.
