When Judy Mitivier opened Classic Golden Autos Ltd., over a year ago, she turned her dream into a reality. The Mitiviers are classic car buffs.
She has owned and restored several older vehicles including a 1950 GMC Pick-up which Judy is proud to note was mostly the result of her restoration work. So when she opened the business it was natural she would concentrate on classic vehicles. She also carries regular vehicles for sale.

She has a class A mechanic on duty to perform repair work, but it is in finding and acquiring restorable classics that is her passion.
"Old trucks are a popular item right now," Judy explains, that is why they are especially proud to have located and returned to Chatham a vintage one-ton International Harvester pickup. The truck, which is complete, and in surprisingly good condition for its age was found in Barrie. Judy believes it will soon be a popular local vehicle once restoration is complete.

The question of who will do the restorations remains open for the vehicles they sell. Classic Golden Autos is able to do the work, but Judy knows a lot of people are looking for restoration projects to take on themselves. Locating restorable classics that are then available for people to buy and lovingly restore is a large part of her business.

"A lot of our vehicles have gone for father/son/daughter projects," Judy explains. Seeing the look of anticipation in the new owners, and the pride they eventually show in the completed vehicle gives Judy and her husband Ken, a great deal of pleasure.
"We like cars, restoring them and going to car shows," Judy explains. So they can easily relate to their customers. The Mitiviers understand there are as many reasons for wanting a classic car or truck as there are people. It may be a model was a person's first car, or the car he or she has always dreamed of owning. For some people it is just an appreciation of a particular type of styling, or a desire to own a piece of automotive history. Whatever the reason, there is a demand for the classics and Judy takes great pleasure in meeting that demand.
