| There comes a moment when
your house is full, your garage is full and you're looking for more space.
I just couldn't stop buying what I loved. I thought other people
might love it too. After years of collecting and furnishing my own
home with restored second-hand finds and antiques, the idea of opening
my own shop occurred. Such were the beginnings of Antiquated Joys.
Located on the home farm, a renovated building is the new home of Antiquated Joys. The shop is brimming full with one-of-a-kind hand painted pieces. Tables, cupboards, dressing tables, mirrors, the stock is ever-changing! The decorative painting is what makes this shop truly unique. Lynda has had a paint brush in her hand for as long as she can remember. Restoring old pieces with a hand painted look is the perfect way to mingle the two things she loves. "I can't bear to throw something away when I can see the potential in it. A fresh coat of paint and some pretty flowers painted on it can totally change the look of an old dresser". People often ask where I get my things. Anywhere, and everywhere, I say, I always have my eye out." My clients also bring me
their own pieces. I will paint and decorate it to their liking. Lynda
has also been operating a stencilling business for 10 years. She
will come to your home and consult with you to find just the right look.
It's an affordable and unique alternative to wallpaper.
