YOUR TROUSSEAU:
In days gone by a bride's trousseau was her personal lingerie, table linens, bedding, toiletries, and special items saved in a hope chest. Today, the actual hope chest is becoming a thing of the past. Most of the things that were stored and saved therein, are now received as shower or wedding gifts. The trousseau's meaning today is usually just the new bride's clothes. This includes her new going away outfit, a new negligee set or two as well as her complete wardrobe of both new outfits and old favourites. Going away outfits may vary with the location of the honeymoon and sometimes includes everything from luggage to a new swimsuit. When shopping for your trousseau, keep in mind where you are going, as well as your own styles and tastes. Be sure to include lingerie and several changes of outfits, if affordable. Remember, your trousseau is your treat to yourself, so indulge. Visit the shops and boutiques for professional assistance in colour co-ordination and unique fashion accessories. [ back ]
