SELECTING
THE MUSIC:
Music for the ceremony should be selected and discussed by both of you, as well as with the officiator of the service itself. This is your wedding and the start of your memories, so take as much care with the selection of music as you do with the rest of your planning. The reception music can be a live band, taped music with a disc jockey, or both, Talk to a professional to decide on the musical selection. Both the disc jockeys and the live musicians carry a wide variety of popular songs in their repertoire and can usually accommodate requests and dedications. Their job is to provide soft dinner music, correlate with the master of ceremonies, provide a P.A. system for announcements, and perhaps, even act as a M.C. as well as providing an evening of dancing entertainment. Prepare a list of your favourite songs and items to discuss on your first visit and ask for a list of songs to take home with you. This gives you the opportunity to catch a forgotten favourite tune. A competent band or D.J. service usually warms to an audience and will soon have everyone at ease, including you. [ back ] |
