Obedience in sharing

A young dentist, Dr Martin, from our home town had smashed his car into a hydro pole just outside of town on a local highway. Previous to this happening, I had noticed him a couple of times at different locations around town. For some reason God laid a burden on my heart to pray for him and share Jesus.

When I heard he had been in an accident, was in a coma in London and not expected to live, I felt that I had missed my opportunity to share Jesus with him. Immediately I went to the Lord and asked Him not to let this man die, and if He would let him live, I would not miss another opportunity to share Jesus with him.

Later I heard he had not been in a coma, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I still felt that the first opportunity I got I would share Jesus with him.

Well a few weeks later, I was walking down the main street and coming towards me was Dr. Martin. I silently asked for wisdom and as our paths crossed I stopped him.

I said, "you don't know me, and you might think this sounds stupid, but I have to tell you something." I told him how I had heard he was in a coma and had prayed for a chance to share Jesus with him if only God would let him live.

He looked at me intently and said that he had been in a coma for a day and a half, and they didn't know how he lived through it. He told me how a police officer had said to him that it must of been divine intervention that he pulled through this. As he shared with me, I felt seeds of life growing as God was watering them.

I was floating high that day as I felt the satisfaction from being obedient to God by following through with my promise of sharing Jesus.

Dr. Martin shook my hand several times, asked me my name, and said we would talk again sometime. I believe God is working in this mans life, and soon the seeds that have been planted and watered by many, will yield a harvest unto his salvation and the beginning of life with Christ. PRAISE GOD!

I wonder how many people we miss out in sharing Jesus with because we're caught up in our selves and not listening to the Spirit of God as He opens doors of opportunity to share life in Christ with the lost, or heal the sick or exhort our brother and sister in Christ?

Lord, may we always be growing in an intimacy with your Spirit, and hear His voice, to bring You Honor and Glory and further Your Kingdom! top
