Reflections from the movie BraveHeart

As I watched the movie, my heart raced with excitement and beat for a passion to become committed to the spreading of the Gosple of Jesus Christ, with all it's power and might to the salvation of souls, and the revival of Saints to the Glory of God and the furtherence of His Kingdom, according to His Will. Below are a few thoughts that crossed my mind. I pray they inspire you to take a position on the Front Lines of the Spritual Warfare we must engage in, to the end.

  • As in many instances within the Bible, something disastrous happened before preparation and action took place:
William Wallace lost his wife, and because of it, he began a quest that eventually led to Scotlands freedom.
We do not always understand what is happening in our lives, but God always has a master plan. He sees the whole pichure, while we only see some of the pieces.

  • William believed in freedom so much that he would die for his faith, an uncompromising legacy that caused others to follow him while he was alive, and follow in his footsteps after death. He was unable to be bought out which would have made him a slave to the values of others.

  • William fought and gave with all his heart, and men followed him because what he lived for came from deep within. He said "Everyone dies, but not everyone really lives". When we with our whole heart commit to God, we will experience the fullness of joy that Jesus came to give us. We will accomplish what God would do through us, taking back the ground that was stolen while we slept.

  • William did not see his vision and reason for fighting come true until after his death. Like Stephen, while being tortured, William drew his strength and peace from God. God provided his strength and peace as he needed it. At the beginning of his torture, his eyes gazed upon a boy in the crowd, and he drew strength from this. After, while being dropped to the ground, his eyes gazed upon the cloth his wife had given him, and he was able to regain more strength. At at last, as he drew near his death, his eyes fixed upon the vision of his wife as she walked through the crowd, giving him the victory he so deserved.
It is no different with you and I, for when we need strength to endure, or peace to still us, God will provide - We are His children.
