Some
city street corners are the focal point of much notorious activity.
Drug deals, espionage, CIA surveilance and other unseemly activities.
Things were going fine for Cliff Wellar, Private Eye until he moved
into a new office on a high traffic corner. Since then, business has
increased but he feels haunted. He's drinking too much and his dreams
are quite strange....not to mention his new clients...this spot, this
corner, is drawing some very odd forces together...
The
Vortex, A Cliff Weller Mystery, is the first instalment
of a four part series about a Private Investigator. Cliff Weller
is an ex-cop, now working as P.I. Even though Weller has seen better
days, he takes things pretty much is stride. That is, until he meets
Rita Poirer. Ms. Poirer is an independent woman, but is there more
to her than meets the eye??
While
Weller explores Ms. Poirer's dilemma, we meet our other characters:

Riley, a cynical drunk who makes an unnatural turn around;
- Nicky
Congo, our bartender with a heart of gold;
- Mrs.
Jackson, a housekeeper who takes her job very seriously;
- Holy
Toledo, a female street preacher

Woody, a purveyor of eclectic items.
