In the year1954, Founder Charles Conway, also known as “chuck” first started by selling Ice cream and pop on weekends on busy waterfront and park entrance in Wallaceburg. After, a fairly successful beginning, Chuck was advised to invest in a permanent location. Chuck decided to build a simple wooden sales shack in the front yard of his parent’s home, selling ice cream, as one of its popular products, and with time added more dairy products to the menu. Eventually the wooden sales shack had outgrown with increase in business and need for a larger permanent structure. Over the years Chuck’s has not only been able to maintain an image and reputation for its good food but it is also known for hospitable service and good employees. Various renovations have been made over the years. Chuck’s enjoys a rather unique accommodation capacity with two separate eating areas divided by the kitchen. Displays of pictures depicting scenes of Wallaceburg, history are also put in place to embrace the past owners and loyal customers of Chuck’s. Now run by Chuck’s daughter, Janice Conway looks forward to providing the same traditional service to incoming generations and continuing to satisfy the regulars. Today Chuck’s is proud to have celebrated its 50th anniversary in today’s most challenging business environment which is an outstanding accomplishment.
