We are one-half mile east of the Town of Wheatley, Ontario. From
Windsor / Detroit take Hwy 401 East to the Tilbury Exit, follow Queen St.
straight south to Wheatley. Turn left at only stop light (Hwy 3) &
1/2 mile east on the right finds the Old Log House. (40 min. from Detroit).
From London / Toronto take Hwy 401 West to Tilbury Exit then as above

We invite you to tour our display herb gardens at your
leisure in a quaint setting at the OLD LOG HOUSE.
Inhale the friendly aromas of familiar herbs and experience
the thrill of discovering new ones. Take home a fresh herb plant from our
large selection or dried herbs all year round.
Our rafters are hidden by beautiful bundles of dried
roses and everlasting flowers. Decorative wreaths & swags cover the
walls.
Decorated bottles of herb vinegars and preserves fill
our pantry.
All of our herbal items are for sale or you may wish
to take one of our workshops to make your own vinegar, herb wreath, sachets
& more.
We offer delicious five course
herb dinners to groups and would be happy to discuss these with

Planting a Herb Garden
Planning & planting your own herb garden is a fun
and worthwhile experience. Bring dimensions to class for the space and
idea of the type of garden desired - culinary, medicinal, scented or tea
garden. You'll learn how to grow herbs from seeds and cuttings. A great
learning experience & a head start on the garden. You'll receive 4
herb plants to take home and grow.

Basil In The Kitchen
Learn new ways to use this fragrant, tasty herb in
different foods. Basil is the most popular herb used in cooking. You'll
see how to use the flavoured basils in your cooking too. We will send you
home with three basil plants to begin your adventures with basil.

Making Herb Vinegars
Vinegar is a way to preserve the flavour of herbs.
Discover the use of herbs in vinegar and food. Herbs, vinegar and recipes
are provided. (Please bring your own bottles). You'll make your own herbal
vinegar in class. You'll enjoy a salad dressed with a vinaigrette from
one of these vinegars and share a pot of herbal tea as you learn.

Old Log House Antiques
Step back in time to an original 1850's log house and
barn filled to the rafters with wonderful antiques and collectibles.
We have oodles of vintage quilts, primitive and fine
furniture, Canadian glass and European china.

Grandad's Favourite Fudge
No true fudge lover should ever go through Wheatley,
Ontario without stopping into Grandad's Favourite Fudge Factory at the
Old Log House.
Anyone who does stop in will be overcome by the aromas
and samples of fudge on display. Take home a piece of chocolate walnut,
praline & cream or one of our everchanging new items.
